A Fisker dealer that somehow still exists has over 20 Oceans in its inventory, many of them with less than 100 miles.

Henrik Fisker’s latest automotive business venture, Fisker Inc, was a failure. Not only was it a failure, it was a messy failure.  From models promised that never saw the light of day to an internal accounting process that saw millions of dollars lost, the six-year old company finally went under in late 2024 after flirting with bankruptcy for nearly a year. The only model Fisker managed to launch was the Ocean EV, a car plagued with poor quality and reviews from the moment it hit the streets. Today the double whammy of EV resale values and the company not existing anymore means Ocean values have been hit hard, so much so that they’re a steal on the used market. And one Southern California dealership still has over 20 brand new Oceans in its inventory for fire sale prices.

When the Ocean was first shown in late 2021, Fisker promised a starting price of $37,995 for the base Sport trim. It came with 275 horsepower, front-wheel drive and 250 miles of range. Next up was the $50,000 Ultra trim. It came with a nice jump in power and range with 540 horsepower and 340 miles of range. The top of the Ocean range was the Extreme, which started at $68,999 and got 550 horsepower and 350 miles of range. You won’t pay those prices anymore of course. Fisker’s bankruptcy and EV resale values will have you paying new compact car money for these EVs.

For some reason a Fisker dealership still exists in Southern California. Located in the city of Costa Mesa, the dealer is strangely called Newport Fisker; I guess it sounds fancier to be associated with the wealthy city of Newport Beach, which sits just over a mile away from the dealer. How they’re still in business is beyond me. As of this writing, the dealer’s inventory is almost exclusively EVs, save for one 18 year-old Mercedes ML with almost 190,000 miles on it. Aside from nearly 40 Teslas the bulk of the dealer’s inventory is Fiskers. There’s currently 23 “brand new” two-year old Oceans on the lot. They’re split between seven Ocean Extremes, a single Sport and 15 of the Ocean One, a special launch trim. For $80,000 you got 14 more horses over the Extreme, 10 more miles of range and solar cells built into the roof.

If you’re feeling risky you can pick one of these Oceans up for a song. Not only does each one have between 50 and 150 miles, they’re all less than $30,000. Way less. One Ocean Extreme with just 150 miles on it is listed for just $21,990. The rest of the Oceans range in price from $24,990-$27,990. Those prices are a hell of a steal for a tech laden luxury EV with over 500 horses. If you’re interested though, buy one at your own peril. You’ll be buying an EV that, for the most part, won’t have any kind of support when – not if – something goes wrong. From complex things like system and battery updates to simpler things like window or light replacements, you’re basically SOL on every level if you decide to become an Ocean owner.
